Professor Omotayo Ben Olugbamila is a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He joined the University in 2014 as Lecturer II and rose to the rank of Professor in 2025. He holds a B.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, an M.Tech from Federal University of Technology, Akure, and a Ph.D. from Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners and a Registered Town Planner with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria.

Prior to joining OAU, he lectured at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, where he also served as Head of Department. At OAU, he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has supervised numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. candidates to completion. He equally served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, which he successfully ended in 2025. His research focuses on Regional Planning and infrastructure facilities planning, particularly healthcare accessibility, environmental sanitation, development control, housing, tourism, and sustainable urban development. He has published over 50 scholarly articles, contributed to books and conference proceedings, attracted research funding, and undertaken several Environmental Impact Assessment and master planning consultancy projects.
