Dr. Olorunjuwon David ADETAYO
Dr. Olorunjuwon David Adetayo is a Lecturer I in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He was born on April 15, 1985, in Lagos State and is a registered town planner with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC). He holds a B.Sc. (2012), M.Sc. (2017), and Ph.D. (2024) in Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo University. He joined the university as an Assistant Lecturer in 2023 and was later promoted to Lecturer I. Prior to this appointment; he served as an Adjunct Lecturer at First Technical University, Ibadan, between 2020 and 2023.
Dr. Adetayo has teaching experience across several planning courses, including Regional Development Planning, Land Use Planning, Planning Studios, Project Planning and Evaluation, and Planning Seminar etc. His research interests focus on regional development, land use planning, infrastructure planning. His academic work has addressed issues such as domestic energy use and spatial planning in Nigeria.
He has published in local and international journals, including Scopus-indexed outlets, and has contributed to book chapters and conference proceedings. Some of his works focus on energy demand, slum formation, residential mobility, and environmental risks. He has also participated in professional planning projects, including master plan reviews, layout design updates, and environmental impact assessments.
Dr. Adetayo is actively involved in departmental and faculty services, including committee memberships and student advising. He also serves as a reviewer for international academic journals. He has attended several academic conferences and continues to contribute to research and teaching in urban and regional planning.
